  • Students’ perspectives integrated into the Citizens’ Assembly process

As part of the first Citizens’ Assembly of the City of Esch, a parallel process was set up to also include the perspectives of students from the University of Luxembourg.

Students are an important part of everyday life in Esch. Their presence in the city, their habits and their experience of public spaces provide an important perspective on issues related to community life and the future of the city.

Between March and June 2026, three conversations were organised with students from the University of Luxembourg. These meetings gave them the opportunity to share their experiences, needs and perspectives on living in Esch.

The discussions with students contributed to the reflections of the Citizens’ Assembly members and helped enrich the recommendations developed at the end of the process.

This complementary approach reflects the City’s commitment to incorporating different perspectives and experiences into its thinking about public and social spaces, while taking into account the diversity of people who live, study and spend time in Esch-sur-Alzette.
